HGV drove over Prince St Bridge ignoring width & weight restrictions

Reported via mobile in the Bridges/Subways category anonymously at 18:01, Fri 20 June 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council 36 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 7740659.

The HGV initially crashed into the two bollards (heading southbound) but instead if reversing out of the situation, went forward a second time over the whole bridge. The vehicle itself was damaged. The bollards were damaged as well as the kerb to the footway for most of the length of the bridge. Myself & other witnesses could see & hear the damage. This occurred at 5pm Friday 20th June 2025. I have submitted a report to the police.

  • I posted the original report for this and I would just like to add that I have video and photographic evidence of the incident in case this helps. The HGV can be clearly identified from these and therefore I could not add them to the report.
