Obscured speed limit sign

Reported via mobile in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 15:11, Wed 18 June 2025

Sent to Hampshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7729049.

Driving along Hook Road towards North Warnborough from the A287, the road becomes a 30 zone. However the speed limit sign is totally obscured by bushes which is leading to excessive speeding entering the village. Anyone stopped for speeding could argue that the speed limit is not clear for this part of the road. Is it possible to have the bushes cleared from the space in front of the sign ?

  • Could someone explain why this has been closed ? I have just checked the sign and nothing has been done to clear the bushes in front of the sign so the sign is still obscured. Please advise whether any action is being taken or whether this is being ignored.

  • You’ve just sent me a note to say no further action (again) but I’ve just checked and NOTHING has been done to clear the bushes from in front of the sign. Could you please send someone out to clear the blockage OR explain to me why my request is being ignored. I suspect it would only take half an hour max to do some pruning to rectify this. Please action or advise.
