Whole section of broken road in cycle lane

Reported via desktop in the Pavement and road repairs category anonymously at 09:22, Tue 17 June 2025

Sent to Brighton and Hove City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7721169.

There are lots of holes/entire section of rough road surface that is almost impossible to ride through with a child on the back of the bike, leading you to have to merge into the car lane and increasing the risk of accidents. It takes up almost the whole section at the entrance to leahurst court road estate.

Updates

  • This has only worsened and now that the evening are dark, harder to spot. It is supposed to be part of a National Cycle Network and it is incredibly dangerous, almost jolting me into traffic yesterday evening.

  • This whole section of the cycle lane is becoming more and more dangerous, the entrance to towergate, leahurst court road going north. Also on the opposite side of the road going south from surrendon gardens down to preston park lights large gouges in road which makes it dangerous for cyclist With the dark nights it is very difficult to see and avoid them. An accident waiting to happen.
