Overgrown vegetation causing restrictions

Reported via mobile in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 17:14, Mon 16 June 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7718682.

Overgrown vegetation alongside the footpath on the Holcot road from the Ridings to the Ashway. This is causing a dangerous restriction putting pedestrians extremely close to passing cars, especially dangerous for children.

  • The trees along this road have caused the pathway to become very narrow.

I walk my children to school along this road, and it is becoming increasingly dangerous to walk along it with cars speeding in and out of the village and you having to walk along the edge of the pathway to not get in the way of the overgrown trees / hedges

There are many other families and children walking this pathway and I’m sure all of them would appreciate this issue being looked into with more concern!

I see the 1st notification of this was in June … it’s not September and nothing has been done? Children are back at school now, this pathway needs looking into as a matter of urgency!

  • I would like to complain about the overgrown trees and hedges in this area. The path is very narrow and it is unsafe when trying to walk my young children to school. With the weather turning, fallen leaves are also becoming slippery. Which makes the pathway most unsafe given how narrow it is with the overgrown vegetation.

This needs looking into with more urgency. I think June - September was plenty of time to establish land ownership.

Consideration for speed bumps going out of the village would also be beneficial. A lot of cars using this part of Holcot Road, certainly do not take note of the speed limit.
