2 very noisy drain covers

These covers are faulty, loose or sunken and make a loud bang and rattle every time vehicles go over them. This is a heavily used road day and night and the noise is disturbing residents sleep and daily life. They are owned by Yorkshire water and they have been out to look at one of them and said it needs replacing. This was weeks ago now and neither the council nor the water company have updated us on where they are at. The second cover that is near this one is also getting very loud. As residents we shouldn’t have to put up with any noise from their covers. They haven’t looked at the second one.

I’m aware that this problem has been reported to the council several times at least in the last couple of months and was first reported in April.

When you have to listen to the noise every single minute of the day then a couple of months feels like a lifetime.
