Paving between trees and building extremely slippery

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 16:52, Wed 11 June 2025

Sent to Reading Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7695188.

The paving between the trees and back of Crown Court is extremely slippery (particularly when rainwater mixes with the lime sap dripping from the trees).

Slipped there myself last week after it rained and it was like an ice rink (or someone had poured oil over the paving slabs) and luckily only bruised elbow and sore hand as fell backwards - injuries could be much worse if someone fell forwards.

Reported anonymously to Council but not sure anything has been done yet. Area needs to be cleared of slip hazard or fenced off.

Updates

  • Although this area is fine to walk on when dry, it is dangerous when wet (specially when rain has mixed with the sap from the lime trees_
