Slimy Pavements Causing Falls

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 16:46, Mon 15 February 2016

Sent to Southampton City Council 4 minutes later

Please clean up the slimy pavements between Tasman Close and Pacific Close perimeter in Oceanvillage.

The pavements are very slippery and people have been falling whilst going for a walk or run. To avoid falling, some people have started to walk on the road, which has a two way traffic and poor lighting, so it makes it dangerous specially after sunset.

  • Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This request is now being actioned.

  • The council actioned bugger all! The pavements get slippery in cold humid days because they are never cleaned - the accumulation of dead leaves mixed with bird poo makes pavements turn into ice rinks. A local retired lady has broken her wrist badly 3 weeks ago. The only way the council will fix issues is if they get sued.
