Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7673754.

The gullies are full of silt and as are the edges of the roads near the curbs. This is causing a massive build up of weeds which is uncaring drainage and also looks unsightly. Appreciate weed spraying is not part of the usual programme anymore. But would suggest road sweeper to remove the weeds, clear the slit and clean the gullies.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Following a review on cost and effectiveness of weed spraying, we are not routinely spraying weeds on the highway. Instead, we review requests for treatment of weeds in channels, at the top of kerbs, in footways / alleyways (bordering a wall or fence), footpaths and link paths. As your request does not meet the criteria, no further action will be taken at this time.

    We will continue to ensure the location is safe through our routine safety inspections which are conducted in line with our Code of Practice. More information is available on the following link:
