Hedges hanging down over the footpath and blocking road signs

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category anonymously at 18:41, Thursday 5 June 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7668174.

The hedges all along the Cumnor Road from the bystander to hill view is over hanging the foot path making it impossible to pass an on coming person without stepping onto the road. I have snagged my clothing many of times and have been hit by hanging brambles on my face head and arms to avoid stepping out into the traffic. The hedges to have a really HARD CUT BACK not just a low level trim.

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

  • The worst of this is either side of the footpath to Manor Road and Werrell drive from Cumnor Road. The pavement is extremely narrow due to the overgrowth and difficult for one person to pass, let alone two people passing which is impossible. This appears to be adjacent to common land so no residential property to take responsibility - this needs attention urgently by the council, please.
