3 Way Temporary Traffic Lights Dangerously Phased

Reported via Android in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 20:53, Tue 3 June 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7658439.

The temporary traffic lights at the recently altered mini roundabout adjacent to The Louisiana pub at the junction of Commercial Rd, are currently signed as 3-way controlled. Unfortunately, it appears that the lights are two-way controlled as two sets are on the same phase. This makes negotiating the junction more difficult than it would be if the three sets of lights were phased correctly. The potential for collisions is high and near misses have been frequently observed, as well as a near collision myself today. Please could you inform your contractor that the traffic lights need to be reconfigured to 3-way as the signage indicates.

Updates

  • I'd like to second this comment - these lights are an accident waiting to happen. three out of four times in the last week I've moved forward on green lights to come out of Wapping Road and turn onto Cumberland Road but had to wait while traffic comes from Cumberland Road onto Commercial Road. PLEASE FIX!!!

  • Again, I've almost done this. It's marked as 3 way lights and I've almost been t-boned as I haven't expected traffic to be coming from the cumberland road as the incorrect signage is there.
