A young tree that was planted on the village green in Pratts Bottom along with three others 2 years ago has snapped in two due to the supports holding it failing and on close inspection it can’t be salvaged

We have asked our tree planters to review soon and try to salvage tree. It may resprout from below. BE A TREE FRIEND Trees can live for decades, if not centuries, but they require a lot of TLC in the first few years to survive and grow to their full potential.
LBB Tree Friends can make all the difference to the survival and growth of a newly planted tree near you. Join other Bromley residents across the across the Borough who water trees or adjust hessian ties. You can also help immensely by removing low shoots on older lime trees and LBB will collect the trimmings. Please consider joining our Tree Friends Tree Friends (bromley.gov.uk).
We appreciate all small tasks you wish to contribute including encouraging others to learn and appreciate more about the trees where they live. You can make a significant difference to the appearance of your neighbourhood by caring for the trees. Volunteering is fun, sociable and a quality use of time—even if its an ad hoc activity you add to your other work and family commitments.

The tree officer has removed the stakes. Hopefully, the tree may resprout. We will continue to monitor the tree.
