  • Thank you for your enquiry. please note that as outlined in our Tree Management Strategy (tree-management-strategy-2023-to-2027 (bromley.gov.uk) the Council will not prune trees in relation to the following:

    • Branches overhanging properties. Residents have the right to exercise their right under common law to prune back branches to their property boundary, withal arising disposed of by the resident. Pruning should be carried out following discussion with one of the Council’s Tree Officers and completed to the standard set out in BS3998:2010 Tree Work; • Obstruction of view: there are no rights associated with maintaining trees in accordance with maintaining views in British law

    • Lack of light: there is no ‘Right to light’ (or shade) in British law.

    However, it is noted that branches are in conflict (touching) property building. Works have been raised to be completed within 28 days to cut back branches in conflict with building structure.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. The contractor has visited site but unable to gain access and had to reschedule the works and will make direct contact with the customer to organise access.

  • The contractor has made two further failed attempts to gain access to undertaken works to no success (vacant property). Attempts have been made to contact the customer by phone to no success. The contractor will attempt to make contact with the customer directly by the supplied email to gain access to undertake the works raised for this enquiry.

  • We have made several attempts to access the property and prune the trees on the boundary. Unfortunately, we have not been able to gain access. This work has now been cancelled.
