Arm of fingerpost missing for over four years

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7651012.

Please refer to closed reports 2575485 and 4351022 both of which have been closed in error. The photo uploaded to this report was taken today, 2nd June. The situation remains as originally reported on 27th February 2021:- "The arm of this fingerpost which points in the direction of Yardley Hastings has fallen off and is now missing". Please can something now be done about this.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the defect meets the requirement for a Priority 4 repair. We will schedule a new arm to be installed onto the sign post to be completed within 26 weeks. Our current average response time for a Priority 4 is 47 days.

  • Photos taken 22/01/26, after the hedge has been trimmed. We are now past the promised 26 weeks. The issue was first reported in February 2021 and remains unfixed after nearly five years.
