Work and modifications on council owned land

Reported via mobile in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 08:28, Mon 2 June 2025

Sent to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7648404.

I live slightly down the road and this house has been having a lot of work done recently. They've completed those steps and concrete platform outside of the boundary of their property without planning permission or consent. It's unsightly and poses a huge trip hazard risk to people walking by especially when it's dark. Cars and vans can't quite get down there like they used to as it's in the way.

Updates

  • Nothing done or updated. Typical of Aberdare council. I'll just go and dig up part of the land outside my gate then should I? There's a few trees on council land blocking the view of the valleys from my window so I'll get someone round with a chainsaw to get rid of them if there are no consequences to be had. Mark my words, come winter when it's dark early, someone will trip on what I've reported and will no doubt be looking to take action against the council over it.

  • Still nothing done. Aberdare council are absolutely useless, they won't act on any fixmystreet reports sent to them. No wonder the town is a complete sh*thole.

  • Nothing still. There's also been a gravel bag fly tipped there by the person who had this work done. Aberdare council don't act on fixmystreet reports or even a direct complaint to them about an issue. They are the most incompetent council out there. They don't stop full pavement parking, long term parking on double yellow lines. They can't even get the public street and park bins emptied frequently enough so a lot are always overflowing.
