Weekly flytipping report

Reported via desktop in the Flytipping category anonymously at 15:11, Wednesday 28 May 2025

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7628701.

Next to yellow grit bit on Dumbarton Rd.

Bin acts as a flytipping magnet. People flytip next to it. Public pro-actively report. Council reactively uplift. Repeat weekly (and for the last 2 years at least).

Now, I appreciate I am not a professional MBA manager, but it strikes me a remedial solution is needed rather than the continued weekly taxpayer cost of time and effort.

So, as per other such hot spot locations - move the bin away from the main road to reduce any visible temptation EG round the corner on Balshagray Crescent. Or remove it entirely.

Relocation / removal has worked well in other Whiteinch locations, so why not here too?

A simple cost-benefit analysis would show a massive potential annual saving and, if people still leave junk on Dumbarton Rd, stick up a £1 warning sign on the nearby pole.

Failing which, please ensure ALL of the many 1/3rd full, council caged lowloaders that fly up and down Dumbarton Rd every single day are instructed to check this hotspot location every time they return to the depot.

Thanks.
