Double yellow lines on Gaer Street.
Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 11:08, Sun 7 February 2016
Sent to Newport Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 762283.
For over two years now we have no double yellow lines on the Gaer Road junction with Waterloo Road. There were four cars parked on this part of the road most of last week making it very dangerous turning into Gaer Street when turning left of Waterloo Road. I've had someone run into the back of my car where I had to stop to allow someone out of Gaer Street. Do we have to have a serious accident before this gets done?.

The Council don't seem interested in doing anything about this problem, it's been more than two years now. People are parking their cars at this location and obstructing the junction with no regard for the safety of other vehicles turning into the street.

The council doesn't seem to have any interest in fixing this problem, it's been like this now for 3+ years.

The Council seems to have no interest in fixing this as it's been like it now for two and a half years and there has been two minor accidents because people are parking where the double yellow lines should be and stopping the flow of traffic in and out of Gear Street. The Police cant or wont police this area because there are no Yellow lines. It's time the Council pulled their fingers out of their backsides and did something useful.

Council has no interest in fixing this problem, it would have been fixed months ago if there was interest from the Council.

No change in the Councils response to this long term problem. There is no interest from the Council even after phoning, they do not return my calls.

This problem has not been resolved by the council even with me contacting the local councillor. She was fobbed off by the council as well. I've been in contact with the local PCSO's about illegal parking in this area, and explained about the double yellow line problem, and how long this has been going on for, (two years now), and they are contacting the council about it as well because they cannot do their duty with this situation.

Problem still not solved, police have been ignored by the council, and there has been another accident here, but that doesn't matter does it. Why am I paying £70 a month council tax.

I cant explain how frustrating it is trying to get the Council or the Police to do anything around here. Waste of my time. I don't know why I have to pay £70 a month Council Tax.
