Algae taking over the pond

Reported via desktop in the Parks/landscapes category by Amanda Clegg at 10:03, Saturday 24 May 2025

Sent to Cardiff Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7612397.

The pond in Thompson's Park in Canton has been taken over by algae. I'm worried that this is toxic to the wildlife.

Updates

  • All clear now. Not sure if council fixed the problem, or nature did.

  • I noticed there are now warning signs around the park warning the visitors of green algae in the pond. Not solved as such, but seems that the ptb are on it.

    State changed to: Open
