Overgrown hedges
Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 15:34, Fri 23 May 2025
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7610442.
These hedges are overgrown both in width and height and they are not regularly maintained. There are also weeds along the pathways, including old leaves from autumn and stinging nettles. It is hazardous and will soon force pedestrians into the road to avoid. The space available to pass is very limited both from the hedges and weeds/stinking nettles and can only walk single file.

It has now been 12 weeks since reporting this issue and no repair update has been provided for this priority 4 repair which is supposed to have a current response of 47 days. This hedgerow is extremely overgrown in both height and width and is causing an accessibility and obstruction problem, especially to those people with prams/mobility scooters. The height and width of this hedgerow make it particularly unpleasant and intimidating especially as the nights draw in. Please inform when this is going to be repaired and the ongoing plan to maintain this hedgerow as this should be on a regular repair plan so that it doesn't get to this stage again.

I have tried to find the works order FMS-7993752 but I cannot - can you send a link so that I can add an update? I assume this will confirm what will be carried out - ie, both height and width of the hedge in question and also ongoing works for this.
