Nuisance behaviour on land owned by Reading Borough Council

Reported via desktop in the Car parking category anonymously at 09:16, Wed 21 May 2025

Sent to Reading Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7598515.

Please can Reading Borough Council take action to stop illegal flytipping, dumping of abandoned vehicles, and antisocial parking by drivers trying to avoid residential parking restrictions which is taking place on land behind the sheltered housing at the corner of Rupert Street and Norwood Road. The grassy area is being churned up into a mud patch.

Enclosing the area with a small fence would do the job, or asking Parking Control Management, who enforce parking on the site, to deal with unlawful parking.

One of the vehicles in the photo, YK64LSF appears to be a licensed taxi, so perhaps your licensing team could speak to the licencee and say this is not really the kind of behaviour expected from a professional driver.

If the vehicles belong to workers at the sheltered housing, this is not acceptable behaviour as there is adequate parking space for them in the car park.

Thank you.
