Several potholes on the main road (A23) from Brighton

Reported via desktop in the Pavement and road repairs category anonymously at 17:43, Tue 20 May 2025

Sent to Brighton and Hove City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7596590.

There are several potholes on the main road (A23) from Brighton at the turning point to Preston Drove. The potholes have been getting worse for many months. It's astounding that this council have failed to repair them as this is a main road in and out of Brighton. This stretch of road probably needs resurfacing.

Updates

  • The potholes along the A23 London Road (north of Preston Park) have not been repaired. The road surface is still very uneven and it probably needs to be resurfaced. Considering this is main road into Brighton the repairs should be a priority.

  • The road has still not been repaired. There entire surface is uneven from the Shell petrol station to the junction with Preston Drove. It's a main road into Brighton so I would have expected it to have been a priority repair. It is very hazardous for cyclists using this stretch as well.
