A public tree at the end of the wood blocks the street lamp

Reported via mobile in the Private Tree overhanging highway category anonymously at 23:19, Friday 16 May 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7581001.

I reported this last summer and nothing was done about it. There is a pathway through the woods from Warren Road to Warren Wood Close BR2 7DU. It is well lit until you get to the end that is Warren Wood Close where there is about 10m of darkness as the tree foliage is blocking the light from the lamppost. I have just gone through the wood and it feels safe until you get to that point and then I feel nervous. I live next to the wood and I think the trees are public as they are in the wood (not private trees, but I had to pick an option to proceed with this report). This foliage needs cutting back so the light can shine through. This happens in the summer when the leaves are present. In winter it is fine.

  • Could you please specify which lamp columns / street lights are obscured. There is usually a number on each. This will greatly help us allocate a job to our tree contractors. Thank you.

  • I have checked the lamp-post and cannot see a number on it. Please see photos attached. It is the lamppost nearest to the gate at the end of Warren Wood Close. Thank you.
