Cycling Safety Issue

Hi

Hi

We have been cycling for a while to and from our childrens school (Telferscot Primary) using a cargo bike with 3 children on the back. We have to negotiate the intersection between New park Road and the south circular (A205). We cross over the South Circular. The standard of car driving is horrendous, and today on our way back car drivers were dive bombing through the junction from the north side, and turning right on the south circular. Even though we had prioirty to cross over the junction they kept coming through leaving us stranded in the middle of the junction when the lights changed for south circular drivers to start going - as you can imagine it was stressful and we had to wait while car drivers sped through in the other direction (most definately not keeping to the 20mph limit).

I think there needs to be some redesign to the junction to stop something like this from happening again. I would like to propose the following:

1. slowing the cars down entering the junction from the north side either with a bump or having posts either side to stop them speeding through (this would massively help as would regulate the speed people go through the junction) 2. having painted markings on the junction so that people follow the route and don't cut the corner making it dangerous especially for those on bikes 3. having prioirty area and lightling for bikes on the junction - this mostly could have been avoided had we been able to go to the front of the queue and head off before the car drivers slam their foot to the floor.

Kind Regards,

Josh
