The tree will be felled over the summer and the stump removed at a later date. A new tree will be planted between Nov 2025 and April 2026.

Thank you for your patience. Our contractors have been delayed as they attend higher priority jobs. They will attend this work in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, we cannot be more precise as to when.

For your information the tree has already been felled. It now just needs the stump removing.

As per our original update -the stump will be removed at a later date. The tree has been felled and a stump of about 1m high has been left in situ. This is to safeguard pedestrians from the tree pit area until such time as a stump removal can take place. Stump removal is ideally scheduled to take place within 2 months of the tree removal. But stump removal is a non-urgent task that is often delayed when other health & safety priority works are required of our contractor. The location has also been added to our database for a replacement tree which we intend to plant during the next tree planting season which runs from November to March.
Until that time, the tree pit will be staked with a wooden post which acts as a quasi-bollard to safeguard pedestrians. If you would like to do more to help our newly planted trees thrive, please consider joining our Tree Friends Program Tree Friends (bromley.gov.uk)
