Edge of stairs are badly worn away making them very slippy and danger to life

Reported via desktop anonymously at 22:10, Mon 12 May 2025

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7559890.

The stairs are worn away from hundreds of years of use there is visible cracks and chips on them. Nearby close stairs have been adapted with anti slip grips and new ground covering. At night time the close fills with condensation making them even more slippy, The bannisters and walls are also wet with condensation. I have videos of this.

Updates

  • These flats are at least 180 years old and never been adapted since.

  • On my block every close has been painted white.. only one hasn’t. • the purpose of the paint job? .• why mine hasn’t had that shitty paint job? • and why donu have to wait for another serious accident to happen before my close stairs be fixed like other closes?
