URGENT ROAD SAFETY ISSUE – IMMEDIATE ATTENTION REQUIRED This issue has had multiple vehicles coming off the road for the last 3 months. A section of the road has severely deteriorated, forming a 24-inch deep drop running approximately 20 metres in length. This presents a serious hazard to all road users. This is now the fourth time this issue has been reported. Each previous repair has been carried out with substandard materials, resulting in repeated failure.

The current condition poses a major risk, particularly for heavy vehicles such as lorries and buses. When two large vehicles attempt to pass each other on this narrow stretch, the one near the overgrown hedge is forced into the centre of the road, pushing the oncoming vehicle into the sunken edge, where it can become stuck in the ravine-like drop. This has already led to incidents requiring tow trucks to recover stranded vehicles.

To prevent further danger and disruption, the following action is urgently required: 1. Reinstate and refill the sunken side of the road properly with durable materials. 2. Cut back the overgrown trees and hedges on the opposite side of the road by at least 5 feet along a 45-metre stretch to restore safe clearance.

Please treat this as a priority before a serious accident occurs.
