Lorry parking and rubbish accumalation

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 12:22, Tue 26 January 2016 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cherwell District Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 753675.

The carriageway outside our premises is being used as a lorry park, and has been for several years both by drivers related to companies on the industrial estate, and now by add hock drivers looking for somewhere to park up for the night which is free. Apart from one bin, there are no other amenities or welfare facilities which means rubbish including food waste, general rubbish and human excrement is being left in the hedge rows. This is beside the canal tow path that is used by residents and their children and is becoming a major health hazard. Our employees who were, and should not have been expected to, were cleaning up the bin only, until I arrived on the premises and undertook a risk assessment which highlighted that they were not trained, did not have the right inoculation's, or the correct PPE. I contacted Cherwell DC with regards the bin and they took it on, however I am contacting you to look at how the lorries can stopped being parked there, thus the build up of additional rubbish hazardous waste in the hedge row and on the canal tow path. I have contacted Cherwell again with regards the additional rubbish, however I would be very grateful if you could come back to me with regards the lorry parking problem, as none of the problems will go away until this main one is rectified. many thanks
