Due to this, currently funnelling triple the amount of traffic down now a single lane part of main road. Seriously dangerous currently… ANY PEDESTRIANS HIT ARE SQUARELY ON CHESHIRE EAST's SHOULDERS DUE TO DELAYS.
We have seen a huge increase (yet again) in Main Road traffic since the road works commenced in February with Newcastle road closed in one direction, they should have been finished 1st of April, it was moved to 1st of May and it was moved again yesterday to a completion date of 1st of June with absolutely no progress being made on the roadworks during this period.
With the closures of Newcastle road & Crewe Road over the past 12 months, Main road has had a massive influx of traffic, making it far more dangerous for pedestrians and children... there's a primary school, a high school, tight pavements, no road markings and I know a child was knocked off their bicycle recently. Also the road has a number of potholes, far more than we've had before due to this.
