  • Investigation: Ongoing (Reported to a third party) - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that the vegetation is the responsibility of the landowner. In accordance with the WNC Network Management Plan, we will contact the landowner and request they cut back their vegetation within 14 days of receipt of our correspondence. We will reinspect the vegetation to ensure they have complied.

  • This problem was reported by myself in September last year (ref 6453668). You have given the landowner letters to address the issue within 14 days on two separate occasions and they have done nothing. I suspect they will do nothing about this third letter either. Is it not time for a tougher more active approach? I am baffled why you closed the previous report because absolutely nothing has changed. It is now 8 months since this was reported, the problem has only gotten worse. As vegetation is encroaching and overhanging a public footpath and causing danger and injury, surely the council has the capability to cut back the bushes / tree to the property line of the landowner?

  • It is now 9 months since this problem was first reported and still nothing has been done about it My wife is only 5 foot 3 inches tall and even she now has to duck down to pass beneath this dangerous vegetation. It must be about time that West Northants Council took this one on the chin and sent their own plant and operatives out to the site to make it safe to walk along a public footpath maintainable at WNC expense. They do after all have a tractor with an arm mounted cylinder mower that could easily remedy this dangerous situation.

  • Problem appears to be too difficult for council to sort therefore they ignore it
