Signage all along the A24

Reported via desktop in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 12:10, Thu 1 May 2025

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7509318.

The signage on the A24 is dreadful (and has been for at 18 months if not more - at least 80% of the road signage (directional signs, speed signs) cannot be viewed until you are right next to them due to plants/trees obscuring them - visitors to the area stand no chance of being in the correct lane. A good deal of the signs are also extremely filthy which again make it hard to see them.

  • Attached are two photos of road signs obscured by overgrown vegetation which i have already contacted you about a few months ago. This problem is not isolated, infact road signs throughout Horsham are covered or obscured by vegetation. Surely it isn't beyond the means of wscc or hdc to clear away the overgrown vegetation on every road sign before a serious accident occurs.
