Lack of line painting, near miss accidents

Sent to Richmond upon Thames Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7502097.

When coming from Apex roundabout, there are two lanes. It then changes to three lanes at the traffic lights, but cars dont seem to know which lane they need to merge or split from to be in the right place. I have seen multiple near miss collisions here. Some line painting to explain the lanes further up would prevent this
