Tees in the roadside bank are damaging cables
Reported via desktop in the Report a tree problem category by Paul Fennemore at 09:31, Friday 25 April 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7479244.
The trees in the roadside bank on the South side of Ardley roard near the Water Lane T junction are about the further damage cables that lead to 7 houses. In the last few days Southern Electricty had to be called out to fix a power cut caused by the trees. Also the trees are blocking the light from the Old Post Office. Whilst this is a minor detail, technically people have a right to not having light restricted.

Thank you for your report. I have been to site to assess the tree's in the enquiry. On inspection, whilst the tree's appear to be currently growing near the overhead cables, they don't warrant an intervention at this point. We will likely carry out works here during the next parish survey of Somerton.
State changed to: Investigation complete
