In 2020 I submitted a report to inform you that there is a large street light outage on this walkway alongside on the A34 Bollin Valley roundabout. I am now sat here half a decade later making the same report once again because no one has bothered to carry out these repairs yet. I am lost for words at how poor this is and I would love to know where these decisions about the street lighting budgets come from. If a roundabout on one of the busiest and arguably most dangerous roads in the area and a key footpath connecting Wilmslow to the surrounding areas doesn’t take priority then what does? People avoid using this footpath at night because they don’t feel safe due to how dark it is, me included. How is this acceptable and how has this not been made a priority yet? There haven’t even been any temporary lighting measures put in place for the short term whilst the fault gets corrected. I was told by email in July 2023 that the repair programme to repair the supply issue was due to take place in the next few months. We are now over 18 months on from this and nothing has happened. If you could please email me on the email address provided then that would be highly appreciated as I am concerned that this is never going to be repaired and it just isn’t good enough. There are at least ten street lights affected if not more. Regardless of how complex the fault is, it does not take half a decade to repair a set of street lights.
