Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7463869.

You have a serious problem here that has been reported repeatedly to you over the last TWO years. You keep doing the same thing and getting the same result (predictable and inevitable failure of the repair within weeks to months).

Currently you have marked the section of pavement for repair, but when it rains it turns into a spring (shown in picture) with water coming up from beneath through the tarmac. A tarmac patch will be quickly degraded by this action of rainwater and will fail. Exactly the same thing is happening due to undercutting run-off water on the road carriageway immediately across from this pavement. You have repaired this with tarmac patches many times and it keeps failing (predictably and inevitably) in a short time scale because of the undercutting water, creating a hazard (that has been reported to you many times) This causes vehicles to swerve across the centre line on a de-restricted A road carrying heavy traffic including farm vehicles and articulated trucks as well as cyclists. United Utilities have confirmed this is run-off water not a pipe burst (I have reported that to you previously) This needs assessment by a qualified civil engineer and a definitive repair. Patch repairs here do not remove the risk and are a waste of tax payers money.
