Speed Hump Dangerous
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:18, Thu 14 January 2016
Sent to Staffordshire County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 745992.
The speed hump at the entrance to this cul-de-sac is now dangerous. The hump is made up of granite sets (cobbles) which over the years many have become loose. Currently there are about 5 missing and many more loose these frequently having to be put back into their holes by the residents as they become dislodged. I have already seen one guy come off his mountain bike damaging his wheel and have seen numerous car drivers get out when one becomes lodged between the ramp and the cars sump guard. This was originally a nice feature until the council decided to remove the odd loose one's many years ago and filling the individual holes with Tarmac. Not fit for a horse and cart never mind a motor-vehicle !

As expected 4 weeks on and nothing has been done to resolve the problem. Since reporting this problem several more of cobbles have loosened. Perhaps if you could still sue the council for damage to you vehicle they may have resolved it by now.

Problem still unresolved and has now worsened with an additional 9 cobbles loose, and approximately 7 holes where others have come out and disappeared. I shall address this with the local councillor Amanda Milling to see if we can get this addressed. After all, we all pay our Council Tax and a percentage of this should be for maintaining our roads and pavements. I walked down Thornhill Road from off the Pye Green Road and the footpath going down the hill was more like a cinder track than a footpath in places. Where are they spending the money, its not on maintenance !
