Matting at play ground coming up
Reported via mobile in the Playground Repairs category anonymously at 11:44, Monday 21 April 2025
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7459792.
The soft flooring around the cow and bike is coming up. As you can see my son tripped on this which caused him to fall over and hit his head on the cow. This has been like this for months.
The park is also cover in leaves and needs a good tidy up, grass mowed and general maintenance.

The matting has been repaired, but the way this has been done has caused a tripping hazard for another accident waiting to happen. The distance from the raised matting to the park apparatus is very close and when a child runs towards it and stumbles it is the exact distance for her or him to hit there head on either apparatus. Thanks

Thank you for your comment regarding the surfacing which has recently been installed. We have raised this with the play inspector for their feedback regarding it's compliance. We will update this FMS as soon as we hear back.

Following consultation with our play inspectors, the wet pour installation appears satisfactory. A slight lift at the edge is inherent to this type of installation due to the nature of wet pour and the lack of standardized edging height guidelines and it is not possible to eliminate it entirely. While all playgrounds present inherent risks, this particular aspect does not pose a significant concern and has passed the inspection. This FMS will be closed.
