Fly tipped waste building up

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 08:39, Thu 14 January 2016

Sent to Cherwell District Council 1 minute later

For some months now there has been fly tipped waste on the service slip road down from/up to the A34 at Wolvercote. This is not visible from the road but is clearly visible from passing trains. This dumped waste is getting bigger and is an eyesore.

  • I received a prompt response to my reported problem, but was told that this location is covered by three different local authorities. Therefore finding a solution (i.e. who pays!) was proving problematic. I see the waste every day as I pass on the train so I know it is not resolved. I'm awaiting an update from James Fairweather (Enforcement Officer) but have heard nothing since 22nd January. I suspect the financial responsibility remains in dispute.

  • Fly tipped waste is still there - gradually deteriorating into an even more unsightly mess. It seems the discussion about which local Authority or authorities is/are financially responsible has not been concluded. It's quite clear to me - the responsible party is the landowner. Get it fixed please.

  • Still not resolved. Don't know why - solution is simple - clear it up. If possible, through investigation (although I suspect that leaving it so long any evidence is deteriorating) prosecute the offender.

  • Still no progress. Waste is gradually rotting away, probably contaminating the ground. It remains,as ever was, an eyesore. It's also a disgrace that something like this is taking so long to clear up. 20 weeks ago I reported this. 20 weeks! JUST DO IT!
