Cyclists continuing to use FOOTPATH….
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction to Highway category anonymously at 15:54, Thu 17 April 2025
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7449871.
Despite the (welcome, thank you) red ‘no cycling’ signs at both ends, cyclists continue to use this narrow footway which, as well as myself, is used by children being escorted to school and dog walkers.
Would it be possible to have explicit ‘NO CYCLING’ signs at both ends of this footpath since, perhaps, the existing signs are not ‘understood’…..

Cyclists don't care about signs and that they make pedestrians feel unsafe, prove of that is the Foot Tunnels in Greenwich and Woolwich which has No Cycliing signs on the ground and the walls of the Foot Tunnels that cycists must walk their bikes through it but cyclists ride through anyway.
If you try to confront them about it you get abuse so adding No Cycling signs is waste of time without enforcement.

The signs deployed at location are of standard provided by the Highway Code and should be easily understood by cyclists. We appreciate the concerns raised and will be deploying officers to location with a view to engaging with riders and raising awareness of their breaches of the Highway Code.
