Thank you for your enquiry. Please note that as outlined in our Tree Management Strategy (tree-management-strategy-2023-to-2027 (bromley.gov.uk) the Council will not prune trees in relation to the following:
• Branches overhanging properties. Residents have the right to exercise their right under common law to prune back branches to their property boundary, withal arising disposed of by the resident. Pruning should be carried out following discussion with one of the Council’s Tree Officers and completed to the standard set out in BS3998:2010 Tree Work;
However, it is noted that the hawthorn rear of your garden boundary is in conflict (touching) your boundary fence, works are raised to lift the tree off the fence which has been issued to the contractor for completion.

Resident has called in as the tree is severally over grown and needs cutting back , the tree is coming from the woods behind the property and the resident has said nobody has knocked at the property to investigate the tree from their side, They are concerned that the tree is over grown and would like a crew to visit the side and cut it back, as they are unable to use the garden as some of the branches have come down and gone through the shed roof, they have also said they are able to see branches just hanging waiting to drop.

There has been a large branch from the tree fall into the garden today, this had damaged the roof of the shed and is very dangerous for the resident. This could of been a different story.
