Light is so bright it shines in my window

Reported via mobile in the Other Lighting Issue category by Hannah Brown at 13:20, Thursday 17 April 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7448995.

Since the lights were switched to LEDs the streetlight is so incredibly bright it shines in my window at night and cannot sleep. Is there any way some sort of shade can be added so the focus is down on the alley way and not in my windows? I appreciate the light is necessary I just would prefer it not be shining so directly in my home. Thanks

  • Dear Hannah Brown, thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'm sorry for the delay in responding and for the inconvenience the new lantern is causing you. Could you please confirm if the issue is with windows at no.1 Clevelands (i.e., in front of the lantern/the way the lantern is facing) or no.3, behind the column/lantern?

If it is easier, please feel free to email me at robert.newman@oxfordshire.gov.uk.

    Many thanks, Robert Newman.
