Reported by Pete Revell at 11:43, Wed 23 September 2009
Sent to Canterbury City Council and Kent County Council 2 minutes later
The clock has stopped at 12'oclock on all four faces and has been this way for a long while.
Can this be fixed as soon as possible. This is an historic structure of the town.
Updates
-
The clock should now be working.
The age of the clock, its proximity to salt water and general wear and tear led to damage within the gear box. This is a one-off installation and our specialist clock repairer has manufactured all the replacement parts, hence the delay in restoring the clock to working condition, albeit that it has only taken about 6 weeks from diagnosis to repair.
