Parking on the verges

Reported via Android in the Car parking category anonymously at 13:31, Mon 4 January 2016

Sent to Newport Council 4 minutes later

I received a hand delivered letter from Joanne Turner of Streetscene on 05/03/2015 and although I knew nothing would come of it I hoped that something might, anyway the picture was taken today (04/01/2016) and shows that the morons are still amongst us and that Newport City council talk about doing stuff but actually do nothing.

  • Should tell you I reported this via FMS on 18 Nov 2015 and sent email to Streetscene on 15 Dec see below:

Hello I note that the situation here hasn't improved, its just getting worse. Some corrective work by Streetscene and advice to those responsible would be effective and cost to taxpayer quite low. Thanks It took 2 more emails before I got a reply from Joanne Turner on 6 Jan 2016 See below:

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding damage to the grass verge areas at Highfield Road.

As I advised in my previous letter, unfortunately Streetscene does not have the funding available to install preventative measures to prevent damage to these grass verge areas. Any reinstatement works/reseeding will be undertaken during March/April (weather permitting).

    Kind Regards

    Joanne Turner

The reinstatement was also promised last year - March 2015 but never happened. I ask - why are they a part of FixMyStyreet if they do nothing?
