Cyclists using this footpath and churning it up

I wasn't expecting to be able to report something online so I do not have a photo.
I write in relation to this footpath from Welsh Road to Newbold Comyn.
Much of this path is very churned up. Footfall at this damp yet popular time of year is enough on its own to make for heavy going in parts, often worst near styles.
There has been a marked increase in the number of mountain bikers using this footpath, which has a disproportionate negative effect on the footpath.
The issue has increased over the last few years and is at its worst when wet. Particularly bad parts of the path are alongside the newish (6 years old perhaps) plantation between the West side of the Service Road to Offchurch and the river Leam. Also on the farm track and field between the East corner of Newbold Comyn and the river Leam.
