Concrete presenting road hazard

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 20:52, Mon 24 March 2025

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7331562.

After recent resurfacing the road has been pushed more towards a concrete construction most likely built to incorporate drain covers of some sort. The problem here is that this concrete is not easily seen. Should a car hit this it will cause catastrophic damage. The concrete block is on a bend in the road which is national speed limit. It is on the westbound side of the road.

Updates

  • The council did investigate and concluded that it is not in the carriageway and as such is not their responsibility. They did not consider it as a danger and will not be taking any action.
