Crater, not pothole.

I drive this road regularly and whilst there are road works and other activity (HS2?) it's still open and I have likely damaged my car as a result. I'm currently in the process of getting it inspected by a garage as it wasn't easy to see and caused a huge impact on my wheel/suspension. This is a crater, not pothole and will cause huge amounts of damage if not fixed soon. Unfortunately the road is too narrow and I wasn't able to avoid due to oncoming traffic, had I actually seen it.
