Hi,
My mother lives at 94 Mill Street and there is a speed hump directly opposite her house. It's been there for probably 20 years and the house always rattles a bit when a bus goes over. In the last year the problem is much worse and the rooms now vibrate and wall paintings shake. It seems to coincide with the new electric buses, not sure if they are heavier, but its bad when the buses go over. We've noticed new cracks (see attached photos). I can't believe ongoing vibrations are good for the building, which is quite an old late 18th century property. Now that we have the new 20MPH speed limit here, are the humps necessary? If they are, could this one be relocated so it's not on the axis of her front door causing more structural damage? Ideally it would be removed.
Many thanks
