Commercial vehicles

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 21:08, Sat 19 December 2015

Sent to Thanet District Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 731734.

Large lorry/vans parked on the junction of vicarage st/ oaklands avenue, very recent incident of fire engine unable to enter the road because of thoughtless/selfish parking, the fire engine had to drive round to broadstairs road to enter our road resulting in several minutes delay

Updates

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 08:24, Sun 17 January 2016

  • Materially nothing has been done, the owner of the lorry still continues to park at the entrance to our road and often parks a van opposite the lorry, this will in my opinion lead to a situation which has the potential to cause an unpleasant accident

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 10:37, Sun 14 February 2016

  • Situation has slightly improved as the owner of the lorry causing the problem seems to have removed the said vehicle, but now has acquired a large utility van which is parked overnight in the very same position as the lorry. In the event of an emergency vehicle needing to enter our road during the night it would be very nigh impossible to admit a fire engine/ ambulace
