Newly installed street light blocking pavement on St Andrews Rd

The newly installed lighting column on St Andrews Rd, Montpelier, does not comply with BCC TDM Guidance which states (in addition to more detailed guidance):
- Within any design proposals we'll [BCC TDM] want to see a reduction in street clutter so we can: - achieve a safer and more attractive environment - reduce hazards for visually impaired people (link to guidance: https://services.bristol.gov.uk/ transport-development-management-tdm/ design-guidance)
The oversize column positioned close to the centre of an already narrow pavement does neither of these things and potentially makes the pavement impassable for many people.
Please could the column be replaced with a slender column placed at the back of the pavement, as is standard in the area (including the other street light on this road).
The first photo shows the problematic new column, the others show examples of the standard installation method in the area, which minimises obstruction to the pavement.
Not only is the new column a terrible design in itself, but would also set an awful precedent if it's allowed to remain.
