Blocked lowered kerb

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 15:49, Wed 19 March 2025

Sent to East Lothian Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7304805.

The signage on the barriers say ELC. These surround scaffolding around a building where work appears to have stalled.

There is very little of the lowered kerb left to try to get up. This is close to where the new 115 bus service is due to begin. Suggest keeping the signage properly in place (I have photographs from Sunday, the signage has not moved, it is now Wednesday). Either move the barriers to allow wheelchair access to the lowered kerb, or provide a temporary ramp.

Updates

  • East Lothian Council have again done NOTHING to provide access for wheelchair users. I passed this today, it's worse now that it was then, still no access, still no ramp. DISCRIMINATION.

  • The issue is now worse than it was to be begin with, no access at all to the shops on this strip. Workers have been there, they have moved the barrier to further block the lowered kerb.
