Old road nameplate direction sign misleading

This nameplate sign with directional arrow is misleading visitors especially emergency services. Arrow pointing 'to the left' suggests pedestrians follow the path through more Scott Close houses (see photo with GREEN annotation), whereas a more directional route would need a 'forward/then left' arrow to direct down the hill-(see photo with RED annotation.)
