Large trench system dug in wooded area. 4 feet deep.

A large trench system approximately 4 feet deep has been dug in a wooded area. I do not believe this is official ground works as there’s no donate or barriers around it. It is also adjacent to a foot path. A nearby tree has also had a large area of bark cut off which could put the tree at risk.
